OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

All of us are committed to providing the highest quality care possible to our patients. The most important litmus test of delivering truly patient-centered care occurs not when things are going well, but rather when a problem has developed.  Historically, when care has not gone well, providers and institutions have focused more on their own needs that on helping the affected patient.  This must change, and the first place to start is for all of us to have a better understanding of when our patients think something has not gone well.  As you will hear, most patients who think something has gone wrong in their care don’t share their concern with us.  We can’t fix what we don’t know about.  And that’s where the We Want to Know campaign comes in.
